CPC Member – Jerry Pattee

My name is Jerry Pattee. I am the current treasurer (and the past-chair) for the Community Partners Council (CPC). In 2008, I represented the council at the annual meeting of the national Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) in Washington, DC. It was interesting to learn about the many different projects from other University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD).

As a child with Cerebral Palsy, I received services from the Crippled Children Division of the U of O Medical School. Ironically, I watched the CDRC be built right next door to the clinic! Now, I find it rewarding to be a community partner with the organization which has played a major role in my ability to achieve my life’s goals. Thanks to the CDRC’s predecessor and six orthopedic surgeries, I was able to raise a family with two children, retire after a 30 year professional career, and now volunteer on several disability related board of directors.

The CPC is a dynamic council. As we mourn the deaths of past members, Rosella Samuelson and Brian Burr, we look forward to the fresh ideas and networking opportunities from new members: Josiah Barber, Eddie Plourde, and Eli Ettinger. Best wishes to all in this new year.
